Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Position Summary

The firm is seeking a highly organized and client-focused Mass Tort Paralegal to support attorneys in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation practice. This role is heavily centered on direct client communication, conducting detailed intake interviews, managing medical record requests, and preparing plaintiff fact sheets and related documentation. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of experience in mass torts or personal injury and excels at managing multiple deadlines while maintaining a compassionate, professional approach with clients.

Key Responsibilities

Client Communication and Intake

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining consistent, professional communication throughout the life of the case.
  • Conduct comprehensive client intake interviews, gathering medical histories, exposure details, and other case-critical information.
  • Provide regular updates to clients regarding case status, required documentation, and upcoming deadlines.

Medical Records and Documentation Management

  • Request, track, and organize medical records, billing statements, and other supporting documents from healthcare providers and third-party vendors.
  • Review and summarize medical records for attorney evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate logs and databases to ensure timely follow-up and compliance with litigation requirements.

Plaintiff Fact Sheets and Discovery Support

  • Prepare, complete, and submit plaintiff fact sheets, authorizations, and related discovery materials.
  • Assist clients in gathering necessary information and documentation to complete fact sheets accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with co-counsel, opposing counsel, and MDL leadership teams regarding discovery obligations.

Case Management and Litigation Support

  • Maintain organized case files across multiple jurisdictions and litigation tracks.
  • Track deadlines, court requirements, and case milestones to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
  • Draft routine correspondence, pleadings, and settlement documentation under attorney supervision.
  • Support attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness files, and case summaries.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant working in mass tort or personal injury litigation.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort speaking with clients daily.
  • Experience with medical record requests, client intake, and plaintiff fact sheet preparation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency with case-management software, document databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or paralegal certificate from an accredited program.
